This week has seen Adam (my friend and blog host) doing more work on my site, and to my joy, I can now schedule posts again! This makes life a lot easier and will make sure my posts go up on a schedule, instead of just “when I get to it”. Thanks again to him for all this! 💙
Books acquired this week
I wasn’t expecting to get any books this week, I must admit… but I’d forgotten that I had a pre-order in for the twelfth volume of the Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint manhwa, and I didn’t reckon on those lovely bunnies of mine…
I’m sure my rabbits definitely found the buy button without any help from my wife, right? After all, they’re such keen readers…

Don’t forget these aren’t the books I read this week! I hold my reviews for a while to get a nice variety, so some of these are from a couple months ago. Aaaaand as ever, please take my ratings literally! If it says “I liked it”, I liked it.

- Fantasy with Friends: Magical Realism
- Top Ten Tuesday: Scary Books This Wuss Enjoyed
- What Are You Reading Wednesday
- Book Blogger Hop: Halloween Tropes
What I’m reading
The Haunted Shelf readathon ends today, and I’ve had to admit there’s no way I can finish all the books I’d have liked to read for it. That said, I’ve done loads of reading and it’s been really fun, so no regrets!
This week saw me finishing some longer books, so it’s not quite as impressive a stack as last week’s finished books. Here’s the sneak peek (click on the covers to embiggen) — just don’t forget that this isn’t necessarily a recommendation, it’s literally just me saying I read the book. Reviews and ratings come later.
For this weekend, I’m going to be rereading the sequel to Trail of Lightning, for sure. Other than that, I’m not sure: I might see out Haunted Shelf with a bang by reading a bunch of shorter seasonal books, or stick to my October reading list. Chances are high I’ll at least pick up the new volume of the Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint manhwa, at least, and I got partway through The Haunted Librarian last night, so I’ll probably finish that.
As for the rest of the week, the theme of November will definitely be going by my whim, rather than having a strict reading list. I’ll probably focus on some of my spooky reading, while we’re still in range of Halloween/Bonfire Night, all the same. Chaos at the Lazy Bones Bookshop is calling to me, and the latest in Jordan L. Hawk’s OutFoxing the Paranormal series, too, The Hollow Sea. More of The Summer Hikaru Died would be good, too…
Who knows, though; maybe I’ll have a wild streak of reading and finish all of that today.
Hope everyone has a good weekend, and as spooky a time as they care for!
