What have you recently finished reading?

The last thing I finished was Clay McLeod Chapman’s Devil Inside, which I enjoyed reading and which I think I really liked! I say “I think” because there’s something a little grotesque about it as a love story; Lilith and Jordan are mutually obsessed in a horrifically selfish way. It’s horrifying and a romance all at once (and some of the horror is really horrifying!).

What are you currently reading?

Long, long ago I got an eARC of Cherie Priest’s The Toll and never got round to reading it. Now I’ve got myself a copy and I’m actually reading it. It looked kinda long on my ereader, but I’m tearing through it, actually. I’m not sure what to make of it yet; I love the random taken-for-granted weirdness of the mannequins changing clothes and the dolls in the creepy museum thing usually tormenting Cameron… but I’m gonna start wanting some answers soon!

What will you be reading next?

No idea. I think I might’ve burned out a bit on my Haunted Shelf reading list, since I’ve spent this evening feeling pretty fidgety. I just reread Rebecca Roanhorse’s Trail of Lightning to meet a prompt, so maybe I’ll go ahead and read Storm of Locusts next, since it’ll fit another prompt on one of my bingo cards.

But I might also just go ahead and read volume twelve of the Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint manhwa, which arrived in the mail yesterday!
