Aaand it’s the weekend again!
Books acquired this week
It’s been a quiet week, but my wife did acquire me the new Uketsu novel:
I’ve been wanting to read it basically since I finished Strange Houses, so I was pretty excited and dove in right away.

What I’m reading
First, let’s do the roundup of books I finished this week! I read a lot at the weekend and then a lot less during the week, especially as it wasn’t a great week… but that still added up to a lot of books overall.
I won’t be doing quite such a reading marathon as last weekend (I finished nine books on the Saturday) but I am looking forward to some reading time… I need to free up some shelf space for the spree I will undoubtedly have while down in London for my graduation. Not sure yet what I’ll focus on, but I hope to finish Carol Carnac’s The Double Turn, and maybe some more of the Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation manhua. I hope my copy of volume 13 ships soon, since it came out earlier this week.
Linking up with Reading Reality’s Stacking the Shelves, Caffeinated Reviewer’s The Sunday Post, the Sunday Salon over at Readerbuzz, and It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? at The Book Date.

Ooh that is a lot to finish in one day! I’m tempted to buy Strange Pictures first and eventually read all of the series. Not sure Pictures is part of it though? In any case, how can I pass up books with “strange” in the title
It’s just Strange Houses and Strange Buildings that are closely linked, I don’t thiiiink any of the characters or anything are shared with Strange Pictures. If there are, it’s a small enough reference that I didn’t catch it having read the latter a year+ ago.
I cannot even fathom finishing nine books in one day…my brain simply could not keep it all separated! Cheers to you!!! The human brain is truly remarkable in how different we all are 🙂
Some of them were part started, ahaha, but yeah, it was a bit intense. At least I do tend to read multiple books at once, so I’m in practice.
My daughter is in town this weekend, so a bit less reading for me! Plus, I had to go buy some work pants, so that cut into my day as well. Have a great rest of your weekend!

Now I must look up some information on STRANGE BUILDINGS.

It’s fun! Well, for a certain value of fun, since it’s also definitely a horror, but still.
Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter came in for me from the library along with two more just-published books. I could have taken all three along with me to East Texas this week, but I felt like I should let others on the long waiting lists read them. Instead, I’ll read some of the kids’ books I have on my shelves and share them with the kids. I’m glad to see that you enjoyed Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter so much. I wonder if it will lead me to visit the cat shelter myself.

Ahh, hopefully it’s a pause queue kinda thing, or are you back to the end of the queue? But yeah, I’d probably do the same!
What a great reading week you’ve had!
Enjoy your graduation!

Yeah, it was pretty good! I wish I’d read more in the rest of the week, but still, the weekend was good.
And thanks. We’re not traveling down to London until the 23rd, so I have a little more time to read more off my shelves before I inevitably refill them, hehe.
A quiet week is a good week. I’m jealous – I didn’t get Platform Decay. But I love the audiobook which I may be able to get.

I have autoapproval on Netgalley from Tor, so I’m pretty lucky that way!
Hope you have a good week!
Thanks.
I’m kind of intrigued by Strange Houses even though it’s outside my comfort zone so I hope you like the new book! I’m excited for Nightshade & Oak 🙂 Happy Reading. Here’s what I’m reading: https://darkshelfofwonders.com/its-monday-lets-catch-up-%e2%94%8215/

Horror generally isn’t my comfort zone either, but the “journalistic” approach kinda works to blunt it. I did put up a review of it yesterday if you’re curious.
