Today’s Top Ten Tuesday theme celebrates flowers, which is another opportunity for me to look at book covers a bit more closely! I’m not a very visual person and often don’t notice/remember covers, so I’ve been enjoying this kind of topic lately. Let’s see what I can do!
Flowers are such a common element of cover design that I had trouble picking favourites — especially when it came to danmei and baihe, where cherry blossoms abound!
I haven’t read all of these books yet (Thistlemarsh is still on my TBR, and I only just started Princeweaver), and some of the books I didn’t love… but the cover designs stood out for one reason or another for all of them. I was surprised by the relatively dark theme in the second row until I added in The Beauty’s Blade there to break it up a bit: you don’t always associate flowers with that kind of dark cover, but here we are.
Curious to see what others have picked today!

I love how understated a lot of the flowers on these covers are! I need to try Julie Leong. Thistlemarsh is also on my “Want to Read” list!

I really liked The Teller of Small Fortunes! The Keeper of Magical Things was enjoyable too, but I preferred the first one.
Flowers are common for sure! I love your choices, and I always love seeing UK exclusive covers. I’m also trying to fit in Thistlemarsh
I really should start on Thistlemarsh, but so many books, so little time!
Beautiful covers! These days, flowers seem to show up mostly on fantasy books, which I don’t read, so I didn’t do it today

Hmm, it’s true that most of mine were fantasy, but I’d have expected them on more genres somehow, though I can’t say exactly what now I’m trying to think about it.
Pretty selections, thanks for sharing your #TTT

Thanks for dropping by!
Beautiful choices!
So many pretty covers out there…
Thistlemarch has a gorgeous cover!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I hadn’t properly looked at it until today somehow, but I love the details!
For some reason, I’m especially pulled toward Thistlemarsh; the cover is super pretty! I’ve also got Hemlock and Silver on my TBR, but I love all of your choices!

I need to get round to starting Thistlemarsh! I’m very curious, but… so many books, so little time.
I’m curious about How Flowers Made Our World.
I posted my review of it quite recently! It’s here. I thought it could’ve used doing proper numbered citations, but I did enjoy the author’s enthusiasm.
I love the colours in the Thistlemarsh design!
They feel a little unusual to me, as a combo? Really makes it stand out!
These flower book covers are so pretty! I’ve not read any of these but lots of these look good 🙂

It was fun to get a prompt that made me really look at them!
I find flowers on a dark cover dramatic, whereas on a light cover they feel airier and lighter.

Hmm, that’s a good point.
I love the cover for Thistlemarsh with the blue. Such beautiful covers!

I don’t always pay a lot of attention to covers, so I’ve really been enjoying trying to focus on them in some of my TTT posts lately!
I love the cover of The Bookshop Below!
It’s a pretty one! Definitely caught my eye.
I really want to read Thistlemarsh but I can’t decide which edition I like better, the US and UK are both SO pretty and I am in love with the tiny mouse on this one. I’m kind of intrigued by the Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation series even though It’s so outside of what I normally read but I keep hearing great things! I love all of your picks 🙂

I think I prefer the UK edition, but it’s hard to know which one suits the book better without reading it, which is also a factor…
Re: Grandmaster, I enjoy the series a lot, both the manhua and the novels. It’s not my favourite of Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s work (that’s prooobably Heaven Official’s Blessing), but I’ve got very fond of it.
For someone who doesn’t notice book covers, you sure picked some stunning ones! These are all beautiful.
Happy TTT (on a Thursday)!

I had fun looking through the uploaded covers to pick some!
I am always a sucker for pretty flowery covers. There is definitely a “type” of floral cover that I can’t resist, like I wouldn’t even know what the book is about but I still want to read it, lol.
I can get that, some cover designs just call to me, even if I don’t normally pay a lot of attention!
Wonderful picks! I had Hemlock & Silver on my list, too. I love that Thistlemarsh has a bee in one of the flowers!

I hadn’t noticed a lot of the details like that at aaaall until I made the post!
