Good evening, folks! I’m a little behind today due to shaken-up routines. Looking on the bright side, the nice thing is that currently me and my wife are preparing to move, hopefully to a bigger flat, where I am promised at least two new bookcases. Excitement!
Books acquired this week
Just one — the new British Library Crime Classic, with an author who is new to me!
So I’m looking forward to giving that a shot.

What I’m reading
Given everything going on, such as my grandmother’s funeral, it’s not too surprising that I haven’t finished a lot this week. Here are the two books I did finish and plan to review, though!
As for this weekend, I’m not quite sure. I finally started reading Necrobane by Daniel M. Ford, which I’ve been meaning to get round to a while, so I might just focus on that.
Linking up with Reading Reality’s Stacking the Shelves, Caffeinated Reviewer’s The Sunday Post, and the Sunday Salon over at Readerbuzz, as usual!
A new move, with at least two bookshelves, is definitely something to look forward to.
I hope you are able to get time to get into your reading today.
Definitely! I’m trying to view it as exciting, even though it’s prompted by not-so-good household stuff (terrible landlord).
I still haven’t had much time to read, but that’s okay. The time will come again, I’m sure.
Thinking of you as your process things through your grandmother’s funeral and beyond. Take care!
Thank you.
With so much happening I’m surprised you could read at all. Although I find audiobooks are a good accompaniment to packing. I have shifted mostly to digital books / audiobooks since my 19 bookcases are stuffed. lol

Me too, to be honest! When I’m stressed, reading really helps… but it’s hard to fit it in.
Sorry to hear about your grandmother. Hope you find some time to read amongst all the other things you have going on!
Yay to a bigger apartments and two bookshelves!

Thank you. I’m trying, haha.
Nicky, I’m so sorry about your grandmother. I hope you find solace in your books as you move (which, no matter how many times you have done in the past, is still hard each time you do it).

Thank you!
And moving from this flat at least isn’t too hard — it very much feels like time. I’ve not moved a lot of times in my life, though I got some practice when I was a student doing my first two degrees, as I ended up in different student housing each year.
I am sorry to hear about your grandmother’s passing, Nicky.
I hope your move goes well! More bookshelf space is always a nice bonus. 🙂 Scandalize My Name is a great title and it sounds like it will be good too. I hope you enjoy it! That’s disappointing about A Pirate’s Life for Tea. It’s one I am interested in–although I’d have to read the first book first. I have to be in a certain mood for cozy reads like that if I am to enjoy them.
I hope you have a good week!

Thank you.
I think A Pirate’s Life for Tea (and that whole series) are likely very fun for the right person in the right moment! But I always rate on personal enjoyment, and it’s just not working for me — at least right now.
