Wataru Nadatani’s hilarious manga series is translated by Zack Davisson (Demon Days, Kaibyo: The Supernatural Cats of Japan) and lettered by Susie Lee of Studio Cutie.

In the fifth volume of Cat + Gamer, Musubi and Soboro (the kitties) are bonded and definitely up to a lot of hijinks. It continues to be a cute and fun concept, though personally I could do with a bit less of the “verbal” communication (with speech bubbles) between Musubi and Soboro — when Musubi was alone, the bits from his POV felt more like realistic cat behaviour (somewhat anthropomorphised, but less silly, I guess).

Still, who hasn’t imagined the daft conversations that might happen between two pets, and the way they might be interpreting the weird world we put them in? I know I’m constantly anthropomorphising our bunnies…

Definitely still cute, anyway, and I love the double trouble.
