This week’s Top Ten Tuesday theme is “Books I Want to Read by New to Me Authors”, which I can surely do easily… Because I’m feeling a bit not-100% (like I might develop a migraine or something maybe), I’m going to stick to just showing the covers this time rather than do my usual ramble — after all, I don’t have much to say about books I haven’t read yet!
I’m not actually sure if the mentioned authors have written other books, but presumably one day they might write others… and these will (probably) be the first books of theirs I get to!

The Maiden and Her Monster sounds good.
I have high hopes!
I haven’t read The Eye of Leviathan either but I am a definite fan of the author(s)’s other book series, Rook & Rose. The Reimagining of Thornwood House is giving me Howl’s Moving Castle vibes and I love it!

Technically I have read Marie Brennan’s solo work (which is great), but I count this collaboration as a separate thing!
And yeah, I definitely feel the Howl’s Moving Castle vibes.
H.G. Parry is an author I’d love to try too. I see lots of rave reviews for her books. And I really liked Witches of Dubious Origin, I’m ready to read more of her books.
I’ve seen such good reactions to this particular book, and it’s Arthurian — dying to try it, ahaha.
I think you were why I added Witches of Dubious Origin to my TBR!
I totally forgot about The Poet Empress but that’s one book I really want to read before the year ends. I’ve only heard amazing things about it and while the hype has me a bit nervous, I’m also super excited to give it a go. Parry, Yuzuki, and Martinez are also new-to-me and I’m also keen to check out their books one day 🙂 I hope you enjoy these authors and books whenever you get to them!

I’m hoping to pick The Poet Empress up really soon, because technically I originally got it as an eARC and now I feel bad I never got to it! I did hear that it’s kinda harrowing, so… it might be one I really need to be in the right mood for. But we’ll see!
The Poet Empress is on my TBR for THIS month!

I might actually get to it this month too! We’ll see — it does fill a square in a bingo card I’m doing, haha, so maybe?
Honestly, these all look like great reads. I’m checking my local library now to see if they have them.
Ooh, hope you enjoy any you try!
I’ve read Carrick’s The Mask of Mirrors and it was OK, but didn’t wow me. Nothing wrong with it, just not the kind of fantasy I was hoping it would be.

Hmm, useful to know! I love Marie Brennan’s solo books, so I’m hopeful.
I’m really curious about Witches of Dubious Origin, too! I hope we both enjoy it when we get to it.

I’ve honestly forgotten the blurb etc, but I know I saw enthusiastic reviews, haha.
I immediately requested A Death in Door County from my library before knowing anything about it because the cover has a Nessie look-a-like, and I love Nessie. Hope it’s a good one, fingers crossed!!
I’ve been meaning to get to it, but still nope, oops!
