Oop, it’s the weekend! And today the movers are coming, so this post has been prewritten and I just need to remember to push the publish button. (I’d schedule it, but then WordPress wouldn’t send out any emails saying there was a post, because they have some kind of bug.)
Edit before posting: things didn’t work out for me to post this earlier, so wooo, the movers have been! It’s been a busy, busy day.
Books acquired this week
Two books to review this week, both of which are pretty exciting!
Thank you to Netgalley and Tor for both of them. I’m hoping to tuck into them veeeery soon.

What I’m reading
As usual, let’s start with the roundup of books read since last week…
It wasn’t a huge reading week by my standards — especially because I finished three of those last weekend and then didn’t read much the rest of the week, but it’s not too surprising, what with the move!
I’m not sure if I’ll be reading much this weekend, or what I might be reading. I guess for that we’ll have to wait and see.
Linking up with Reading Reality’s Stacking the Shelves, Caffeinated Reviewer’s The Sunday Post, and the Sunday Salon over at Readerbuzz, as usual!
I have read a few Kingfisher books – I need to read them all! What Stalks the Deep sounds really good.
I’m really looking forward to it, I love this series. Though Kingfisher’s books in general are all fun!
I’m so looking forward To What Stalks the Deep!

Me toooo! I hope I can get round to starting it today, to be honest.
I bet it has been busy. Glad the movers arrived and you are moved!
I’ve always been curious about A History of the World in Twelve Shipwrecks. I may add it to my list.

Really there’s still sooo much work to do with getting rid of stuff we didn’t have moved, but we’re trucking along speedily!
I really liked A History of the World in Twelve Shipwrecks, I recommend it.
Yay for moving, I hope its going well! Unpacking is the fun part, lol.
So far so good; we had to wrangle a bit with the movers who insisted that it was not possible to move the rabbits’ custom-built hutch (after previously agreeing to it), but we got there, haha! Now so much tidying and finishing up of loose ends to do, though luckily we’re paying for a cleaner service.
I’m really looking forward to unpacking my books and getting them settled into the bookshelves, especially since I’ll be getting some new bookcases!
Glad the move is done! A couple of the short story collections look good (summer mysteries and fantasy) 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
“Done” is a big word, ahaha, somehow there’s so much to do still. But it’s progressing! Thanks for dropping by. 😀
Moving takes up so much time, physicaly and mentally. Hope it is smooth for you!
Thank you! So far it’s been a rocky path, but we’re getting there.
I love the title and cover of I Will Judge You by Your Bookshelf so went to Amazon and bought a copy. Thanks for posting about it!

It’s fun! A bit samey but probably nice to dip into, rather than read in one shot like I did!
I hope the moving process goes well for you!

So far we’re managing, but it’s an uphill struggle, ahaha. Thanks!
I think that you did very well reading that with movers coming! I managed one book this week. The book that I am currently reading is quite a thinky book so it is taking me a while.
Have a great week!

I had to make some reading time or I’d go nuts, I think, ahaha.
Amazing you managed a post while moving at all. I hope it all goes smoothly.

The power of routines, ahaha. Things aren’t going perfectly, but steadily we’re getting it all done!
I love I Will Judge You by Your Bookshelf, a really good one!

I found it a bit repetitive, but I probably shouldn’t have sat down and read it straight through, I think!
Good luck with the move!
Have a great week!

Thank you! We need the luck getting everything to fall into place, ahaha.
Oh, I didn’t know you were moving! I’m glad you’re all moved in already! I’m so excited for you making this new place feel like home. I’m sure unpacking the books and organizing them on your new bookcases is going to be the best part!

We’d not really meant to move right now, but we got tired of maintenance problems with the house and the lack of space, and decided to jump! It’ll be a couple of weeks before we get to sorting out my bookcases, I think, but I’m looking forward to it.
I recently read I Will Judge You by Your Bookshelf, too! How did you like it? I thought it was a fun read.

I liked the art, but I guess I found it a bit too repetitive! Maybe more fun to dip into, rather than read straight through…?
I’ve struggled with Kingfisher’s books and I don’t know why. In theory, I should love them. I liked The Twisted Ones and A House with Good Bones well enough, but ended up DNF-ing What Moves the Dead. Maybe I will try again in a few months.
