Good evening, folks! It’s been a busy reading week around here, with the readathon today boosting my read count a little (okay, and short books helped there too). And I haven’t bought any books this week, though I’ve been putting together a preorder or so!
Linking up with The Sunday Post @ The Caffeinated Reviewer and Stacking the Shelves @ Reading Reality & Tynga’s Reviews.
Books read this week:
Almost done with my Narnia reread, as you can see!
Reviews posted this week:
–The Magician’s Nephew, by C.S. Lewis. I always read them in chronological order, so this is where I always start. Some great bits here, despite it never being a favourite. 4/5 stars
–Love Around the Corner, by Sally Malcolm. Silly stupid boys and silly stupid miscommunication, but it’s cute. 3/5 stars
–The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, by C.S. Lewis. Not as beloved as it was once, perhaps, but I think it is still very moving and worth thinking about. 4/5 stars
–The Horse and His Boy, by C.S. Lewis. I used to love this adventure so much, but I have cooled on it as an adult. 3/5 stars
–Hither, Page, by Cat Sebastian. Both a romance and a mystery, I really enjoyed this one. There are some great moments of non-sexual intimacy that really made me feel for the characters. 4/5 stars
–Prince Caspian, by C.S. Lewis. I always loved Caspian the best of all the main characters… 4/5 stars

So that’s my week! How’re you doing, folks?
I’m loving your Narnia reread reviews – I haven’t revisited these books for a few years, but still have a great deal of affection for them.
I’m still struggling to settle – I’m halfway through Goldilocks, a quarter into Gods of Jade and Shadow, and I’ve put Kingdom of Souls aside for now. I’m not sure I’m taking in enough of any of them to write a review though. Boo.
These books were such a big part of my childhood, I doubt I’m at all objective about them. They feel like… not a hug, they’re slightly too paternalistic and old-fashioned for that, but like a trusted family member’s voice telling me everything’s going to be alright.
I know that feeling. 🙁 It’s why I’ve been going heavy on rereads or short books.
Ooh I love seeing the Narnia books! How fun you’re doing a reread!! I loved A Horse and his Boy as a kid. I wondr now if I should reread it and see how it holds up?

I think they’re still a lot of fun, and I remembered them very fondly, so it’s worth a try! 😀
WOW, that’s a lot of books!
Have a wonderful week ahead, stay safe and healthy 🙂
It looks more impressive than it is since they’re all so short! XD
Thanks for dropping by. 🙂
Yes to Narnia! I do like the look of Love Around the Corner – is that a Christmas book? I’m always looking for Christmas books to share with my Christmas book group – yep, we love Christmas any time of the year lol
Stay Safe. Take care x

It’s set at Christmas, yes! 🙂
Thanks for dropping by!
The Narnia reread is a good idea during this period, I’m sure we would all like a secret world in our wardrobe to escape to right now
Wishing you a great reading week, be well x

It’s been very cosy and nice to revisit that world, for sure! Thanks for dropping by.
That’s great that you are reading so much. I hope this is a good week too.
Thanks! Here’s hoping! I’ve been reading about as much, but longer books, so it doesn’t look like progress. :p
It’s been a very long time since I read Lewis’s series. I love quick, easy books sometimes. Stay safe and happy reading!
It’s so comforting and familiar, too! Thanks for dropping by. 😀
Digging Up Armageddon? I’m officially intrigued. Have a great week!

It’s quite interesting, though a little too gossipy about the archaeologists rather than the archaeology, for my taste! Thanks for dropping by.
I read The Lion… a long time ago, but I don’t think I got to the other ones. And I do enjoy the movie too 🙂 Stay safe and enjoy your week!

I didn’t see all of the most recent movies — to me the correct adaptation is a cartoon one, or the old BBC ones, haha. 😀 Thanks for dropping by!
