And another week gone! This year is flying by already… which in a way is fortunate, because I was excited for the two books I picked up this week, both out on 03/02 (coincidentally, my mother’s birthday). Now it’s just A Darker Shade of Magic to go and then I’ll have the books I’m most eagerly coveting…
Bought
The cover of Karen Memory is just perfect. I’m already partway through — might even have finished it by the time this goes live — and enjoying it very much. I’ve already finished Trigger Warning…
Library
Guess who’s onto the chemistry section of their Open University textbook? And Stonehenge, well, who can resist archaeology about Stonehenge?
For review
I still haven’t read a single book by Ian Tregillis. I have them. I just need to, you know, read them. Oops.
Comics
Peggyyyyy. I really need to watch Agent Carter, too. Mind you, I still really need to watch Agents of SHIELD and, uh, Norton’s Hulk (though really Mark Ruffalo is the only Bruce Banner for me, sorry).
Anyway, this was quite a big haul for me, but I’m still keeping to my resolutions! For now, at least. I do need to hurry up and get reading my review copies, though. How’s everyone else been doing? Any massive hauls?
I did some courses at the Open University a good few years ago and really enjoyed it. It was just for fun but the subjects sound really cool and impressive when you tell someone about it! The astronomy course nearly blew my head off as I was hopeless at maths and physics…! Enjoy your books!
I’m pretty hopeless at maths and physics, too. I’m really hoping that if I bang my head against it long enough, it’ll all make sense!
Great haul of books! Can’t wait to see what you think of Karen Memory so will look out for your review. I really want to get a copy but I’m being good and sticking to all of my rules 🙁 I got The Mechanical this week too, and have his Milkweed Triptych trilogy sitting on my shelves, unread…
Enjoy your new books and happy reading 🙂
Same for me, with Tregillis. And Karen Memory is great fun, so far. I really really like it!
Very nice haul, Nikki! I wouldn’t mind a book about Stonehenge either, and Trigger Warning has been on my radar for a while.
I hope you’ll enjoy all your new books. Have a great weekend and happy reading 🙂
It iiiis. I can recommend the book about Stonehenge, I finished it yesterday afternoon and found it very interesting!
Thanks!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cover for Karen Memory.
Me toooo. It’s such a good representation of the character!
Nice haul! I got A Court of thorns and Roses as well this week and can’t wait to read it and I have always been fascinated by Stonehenge.
You can check out what i got this week here: http://www.sapphireddragon.com/2015/02/stacking-shelves-25.html
Have a great week and happy reading !
I’m looking forward to it! And the book on Stonehenge was really fascinating, I can recommend it if you like non-fiction.
I’m waiting for netgalley to let request A Court of Thorns and Roses for US because so far it is only for UK and AUS :/ I hope you enjoy your books 🙂 I’ve noticed a couple of bloggers have gotten Gates of Thread and Stone so I really need to check it out.
Here’s my STS

I think Gates of Thread and Stone is on ‘read now’ on Netgalley, if you’re interested in that! I was a bit surprised I was approved for A Court of Thorns and Roses, but I’m looking forward to reading it.
Nice haul. I missed out on an ARC of Karen Memory too, so I bought a copy and started reading last night. As for Trigger Warning, it had a long dry spot in the middle, but there were some great stories in it.
Here’s how I’m Stacking the Shelves
Karen Memory is great fun, in my opinion at least. I’m enjoying it a lot. As for Trigger Warning… I found it relatively typical of Gaiman, you know?
Great haul! I received Trigger Warning this week too and am really looking forward to reading it! And love the cover of Karen Memery, but on the fence about buying a copy as I don’t usually read steampunk. I’m not watching Agent Carter, but really like Agents of Shield. Hope you enjoy all of your new reads!
Don’t think my above link is working, so here’s My haul
I enjoyed it, though it’s fairly typical of Gaiman. And yeah, the cover does rock!
Happy reading! I haven’t heard of most of these but they look good.
Tsuki’s STS
Thanks!
I also got ACOTAR!! It’s really exciting! Hope you enjoy your stack of books 🙂

I haven’t read Maas’ earlier books yet, but I hear such good things I couldn’t resist requesting it!
Karen Memory was awesome! I hope you enjoy it. Now I’m eagerly awaiting A Darker Shade of Magic as well 🙂
And I have The Mechanical for review as well, and I’m very excited. I’ve read Ian Tregillis’ Something More Than Night and two out of three books in his Milkweed Triptych trilogy and liked them all very much. I hope we’ll both enjoy his new book.
I’m loving it so far!
I have those to read too. Just… so little time, etc, etc.
Ooh GATES OF THREAD AND STONE, I’ve been meaning to pick that one up..Gotta support our self-published authors <3
It’s ‘read now’ on Netgalley, so I thought I’d give it a try!
Ooh lucky! I’ve been meaning to pick it up at the book store. Gotta support the independent authors
This is a great haul of books – I added a few to my TBR 🙂
Happy reading!
Thanks!
I cracked and bought my first books of the year on Friday. It was two more photos of Bath books that I hardly need!
Oops. But are you pleased with them?
Yes – they are a bit different in that they are photos of little details and you are supposed to guess where they are. There aren’t even any answers since they were for a long since over competition!
That sounds interesting (though maybe frustrating!).
It was the fact that it was a bit different that appealed to me. Bath is a great place for such a thing, too as there are so many architectural details.
Ahh, I’m so jealous of A Court of Thorns and Roses! Hope you enjoy all these books 🙂

I was surprised I got approved for it, really! Thanks.
Nice haul! I’ve been eyeing Gates of Thread and Stone and now that I’m seeing it all over the place, I can’t wait to add it to my TBR pile. And I love that you have a book about Stonehenge. I’m a bit of a geek for history and archaeology 😉 And I love Sarah J. Maas’ other series so I’m anxious to see what she does with A Court of Thorns and Roses. Hope you enjoy all of them! Here’s ours: BiblioJunkies Happy Reading! ~ Bel
I’ve been seeing it a lot too! I’m looking forward to trying it. I can recommend the book on Stonehenge, I enjoyed it.
