Good morning! Moving continues apace, but this weekend should actually be fairly chill. Next weekend there are movers, so that’ll be less chill, ahaha.
Books acquired this week
N/a! I haven’t been out much, certainly not anywhere with a bookshop — and my birthday isn’t far off, so I’m trying to leave some books on my wishlist that people might want to buy me.
Posts from this week
As usual, let’s do a bit of a roundup…
- Non-fiction: Cull of the Wild: Killing in the Name of Conservation, by Hugh Warwick (4/5 stars)
- Romance manga: A Side Character’s Love Story, vol 14, by Akane Tamura (4/5 stars)
- Fantasy: Starling House, by Alix E. Harrow (3/5 stars)
- Poetry: Cold Night Lullaby, by Colin Mackay (5/5 stars)
- Non-fiction: The Magic Books: A History of Enchantment in 20 Medieval Manuscripts, by Anne Lawrence-Mathers (3/5 stars)
- Comics: The All-Nighter, vol 2, by Chip Zdarsky, Jason Loo et al (3/5 stars)
That was it for this week!
What I’m reading
I haven’t actually been reading a lot this week, by my standards or… honestly, anyone’s standards, at least among book bloggers. It’s just these two volumes of Solo Leveling:
I’m not sure what I’ll be reading this weekend, if anything, actually. I might try to get some books I’m close to finishing actually wrapped up, so I can pack them or donate them. But we’ll see!
Linking up with Reading Reality’s Stacking the Shelves, Caffeinated Reviewer’s The Sunday Post, and the Sunday Salon over at Readerbuzz, as usual!
Good luck with your move, that sounds rather stressful? Or maybe exciting
It’s a bit of both, I think! We’re really glad to be moving into somewhere with a bit more space — and maybe (maybe) more bookcases for me!
It’s hard to do much else besides prepping for a move when one is moving. Good luck with a smooth move. And then maybe you will be able to celebrate your birthday properly by reading some books. lol
I’m very lucky and my wife’s taking care of a lot of it, and my dad too. Plus most of my belongings are in fact books, which are very easy to pack (if bulky and heavy to carry)!
It’s a while till my birthday yet, but I get so spoiled with books that I have to give my wishlist time to mature, ahaha.
It’s been so long since we moved that I can’t even imagine what it would be like! Good luck with that!
Busy, though I’ve been very lucky in my wife and dad doing a lot of it, haha!
Good luck with your move! I hope you can squeeze some reading time in!
I’ve actually done quite a bit of reading this weekend, in the end! Which is definitely nice.
Moving is so stressful! We just finished divesting ourselves of everything – well technically we still have the house until it sells – in preparation for our move to Albania. We fly tomorrow. I haven’t been reading much either.
Oof, and that’s such a big move too. Good luck!
Sounds like you are in a mood, LOL! Good luck with the move.

Thank you! I’m looking forward to it, I should get at least one more bookcase out of it, ahaha.
The last time I moved was 8 years ago. I’m not moving again unless it’s back to California at the beach.
I expect we have at least one more move in our future, into a house we own. For now, this one’s another rental.
I hope your move goes very well. I enjoyed lots of audiobooks when I was packing and unpacking and driving between houses.

Really, my wife’s been doing most of the packing and such — the bulk of my stuff is books, which is heavy and bulky, but fairly easy to pack!
Birthday books are always the best. Good idea to leave some books on your wish list!
Does seem like you are a moody reader just like me. I hope you enjoy your week.

My wife likes to spoil me with books, so I really just have to cooperate and make sure there are books to get me, right?
