Top Ten Tuesday

This week’s prompt from The Broke and the Bookish is “ten finished series I have yet to finish”.

  1. Jacqueline Carey’s Agent of Hel. I think Poison Fruit is the last book, anyway? Soon I’ll get to it. Soon.
  2. Stephen Donaldson’s Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. Okay, I haven’t even finished the first book.
  3. J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter. Sorry?
  4. Kelley Armstrong’s Darkness Rising. I’ve read the Darkest Powers trilogy, but not this one yet.
  5. Tad Williams’ Shadowmarch series. Okay, I haven’t started it. But I have the first book!
  6. Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I’d like to say that by the time this goes live, I will have finished the last book. But it’s unlikely.
  7. Kristin Cashore’s Graceling Realm books. I’m partway through Bitterblue. Perhaps I have finished it as this goes live. Perhaps not. Schrodinger’s book.
  8. Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl series. I think I’ve got halfway through the series twice now, and then distra
  9. Ellis Peters’ Brother Cadfael books. Yeah, I don’t know that I have an excuse here…
  10. Brian Jacques’ Redwall books. I don’t know if I’ll ever actually read all of them, but it’s a nice thought that some of that warm and cosy world still awaits, should I want to visit.

Okay, that was harder than I expected, since I’m doing this quite a while in advance and I’m not sure what I’ll have got round to by then! What’s on everyone else’s lists?

Loads of people are confessing to not finishing HP this week XD I am so sad! I also admit that like you, I have not finished ADOSAB OR Bitterblue yet, I just lose interest in series so quickly!

  2. Surprised and gobsmacked you haven’t fnished HP: all my illusions about your bibliophibian superpowers shattered. I’m a broken man.

Couldn’t bear to continue Trudi Canavan’s Black Magician series into its offshoot sequences, much as I loved her wordbuilding. Have the third — and thickest — volume of Kathryn Northlands trilogy to read for review, but feel rather daunted by its mass.

And Ursula Le Guin’s loosely connected and continuing Ekumen novels taunt me from my shelves for my lack of willpower, Four Ways to Forgiveness and The Word for World is Forest in particular.

    • I’m evil, ’cause I laughed at that!

Hmmm, I only ever read her first trilogy. I think it was the first? Anyway, need to read those at some point.

I think I’ve read all of them now. I think. I sometimes turn a corner and find one I somehow missed, though.

Harry Potter is the most famous one on my list. I never started the second one.

I’m not sure the Ekumen books can be considered a series at all; they’re just multiple books in a single setting – one that’s not even self consistent, since telepathy stops working at some point without explanation or even mention.

  4. I “finished” the Harry Potter series, but I have to admit that I skimmed through most of the the last few books, and probably couldn’t tell you what actually happened in them…..! 😉

  5. I’ve still to finish Artemis Fowl as well-I don’t know why I stopped as I was enjoying it but it’s been about five years now so I’ll need to read it from the start. I just love Foaly!
