Pull List

I keep saying that you just have to look at my current pull list to know that there are plenty of awesome female (super)heroes in comics. So hey, here’s my pull list!

  • Captain Marvel.
  • Ms Marvel.
  • Operation S.I.N. (featuring Peggy Carter).
  • Silk.
  • Spider-woman.
  • Spider-Gwen.
  • Thor.

And TPBs I regularly get…:

  • Batwoman.
  • Batgirl.
  • She-Hulk.
  • Red She-Hulk.
  • Black Widow.
  • Saga.
  • The Wicked + The Divine.
  • Anything with Kate Bishop in it.

Aaaand ones I’m looking forward to? Now that Spider-Gwen’s out, I guess that has to be Chuck Wendig and Adam Christopher’s rewrite of The Shield.

So, dudes: you were sayin’?

  1. I really want to read more graphic novels & comics! I’ve read the first 3 volumes of Saga -and loved them- and the first volume of The Wicked + The Divine -which I didn’t like unfortunately.

I’m definitely checking the ones on your list out! I never really know where to start with comics… Which ones to begin with and read first.

    • I do adore Saga. Shame you don’t like The Wicked + The Divine, although you gotta admit the art is stunning, right?

Most of my pull list are Marvel ones, so they are part of a larger continuity. Captain Marvel has been standing on its own reasonably well, though, and Ms Marvel too!

      • The art was incredible! I just didn’t get along well with the story… Which I’m really sad about because of the art quality. That’s the thing I find intimidating, I never know where I am supposed to start! But I’m very curious to read Ms Marvel.

        • Yeaaaah, I can see how that would be disappointing. And if it helps, with comics I pretty much just jumped in. You could try Young Avengers or Runaways — they’re both fairly accessible with just bits where they tie in to the rest, and the most recent run of Young Avengers was illustrated by Jamie McKelvie so it has the art!

This reminds me that I keep wanting to try Operation S.I.N but I keep forgetting to pick it up. Think I will have to wait for the TPB.

Kate Bishop! I finally caught up on Hawkeye, so good!

    Good looking pull list 😉

    • I’m making sure to get it as it comes out because Peggy!

I am behind on Hawkeye because I was waiting for the volume 4 TPB and they keep putting back the daaaate. *whine*

  3. I’m picking up Operation SIN because of Kathryn Immonen. In addition to liking female characters, I also like female creators, and try to support them where I can. So Captain Marvel (by Kelly Sue DeConnick), Ms. Marvel (by G. Willow Wilson), X-Men (currently by G. Willow Wilson) Silk (art by Stacey Lee) and Squirrel Girl (art by Erica Henderson) are all also on my pull list. Also, KSD’s Bitch Planet, and I’m really excited for the new volume of Hopeless Savages by Jen Van Meter.

    • That’s a good point. I’m probably going to pick up Bitch Planet, I do like DeConnick’s work, but I wasn’t sure when it came out if it was going to be my thing. I should look up reviews now. Sadly, I don’t like Pretty Deadly.
